Word of the day: Reverse pitch

Writer's picture: BlockSuitsBlockSuits

When an investor is pitching a business idea to the entrepreneurs or start-ups, it is a reverse pitch. The tables simply turn. In this case, the start-ups do not present their business plan to the investors, but the investors present their ideas to the start-ups, including the concepts, challenges, etc.

The investors tell the business plans in which they are likely to invest. This includes venture capitalists and big financial institutions pitching an idea to start-ups.

Why would investors pitch ideas to the start-ups?

For venture capitalists and angel investors, they are always on a lookout for a lucrative investment opportunity. For big financial institutions like banks, it is the fintech requirement that they need with the ever-increasing usage of technology.

For example, Indian venture capitalist firms like YourNest and Omidyar Network are constantly looking for tech start-ups which empower digitization and promote AI.
